Downtown Disney Guide
The excitement doesn't stop with Disney's four Theme Parks. You can find even more in the Downtown Disney area where there's plenty of shopping, fine dining, exciting shows and concerts, club hopping, dancing and so much more. Downtown Disney gives you plenty to do at Walt Disney World Resort after the theme parks have closed.
Downtown Disney is collectively made up of three distinct areas; the Marketplace, a lovely outdoor mall; Westside, featuring stores, eateries and concert venues; and the centerpiece of late-night Disney - Pleasure Island, a non-stop party with clubs, shows and fireworks.
Downtown Disney Westside Entertainment
Located in the western corner of the Downtown Disney area, this is the home to some of the most unique venues at the Walt Disney World Resort. Witness Cirque du SoleilLa Nouba - a dazzling spectacle of acrobatic artistry, art and theater; experience fun at DisneyQuest Indoor Interactive Theme Park and enjoy an array of entertainment options for the entire family. Each store, restaurant or business at Downtown Disney Westside has a unique feel to it, making it perfect for spending an evening exploring.
La Nouba by Cirque du Soleil: Featuring mesmerizing high wire and flying trapezes, stunning acro-gymnastic performances and other dynamic displays of coordination and strength. Show Dates & Times: Performances are held from Tuesday through Saturday at 6:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. There are no performances on Sundays and Mondays. Guests must arrive at least a half hour before selected show time. There is 15 minute pre-show and the feature performance is 90 minutes. La Nouba will not be presented on the following dates in 2007: January 16 to 20, March 20, May 22 to June 2, July 31, September 25 to 29, and November 27. House of Blues: Enjoy world-famous performers, live and in person, as well as the best up-and-coming talent from around the region. Tasty eats complement the eclectic beats, which range from the rowdiest rock 'n' roll to , R&B, Latin, reggae, hip-hop and, of course, the blues which can be heard live every Thursday through Saturday in the restaurant at 11:00 pm. A Gospel Brunch is a Sunday favorite with a delicious all-you-can-eat Southern-style buffet featuring live music by the best regional and national gospel artists. Downtown Disney Marketplace
Beautiful waterfront Open-Air Mall with unique and diverse shops and a great variety of restaurants. A shopping and dining experience only Disney could create! Among the highlights for children is the LEGO Imagination Center where kids of all ages can literally build their imaginations with all the latest fun from LEGO elements. Check out "Brickley," the 50-foot LEGO Sea Serpent in the lagoon, then get hands-on in the interactive outdoor playground.
At Disney's Days of Christmas, it's the holiday season 365 days of the year. Upon entering this holiday wonderland, it's difficult to resist the infectious mood and here you can satisfy all your holiday decorating and gift-shopping needs. Everyone will be awed by the sheer size of the World of Disney emporium. The biggest Disney shop on Earth features 12 gigantic themed rooms based on Disney classics, where you'll find a mountain of plush toys plus everything from infant wear and gourmet items to jewelry and intimate apparel.
Restaurants include the Rainforest Cafe which re-creates a tropical rain forest through a combination of live and animated wildlife and special effects; Fulton's Crab House a replica of a turn-of-the-century riverboat serving fresh seafood flown in daily from ports worldwide; Cap'n Jack's provides a panoramic view of Buena Vista Lagoon while you dine on the chef's specialties in this waterfront setting. For quick bites there is McDonalds and Earl of Sandwich.
Downtown Disney Pleasure Island Entertainment
Enter the center of excitement and the ultimate party zone. One ticket allows you unlimited visits to all the nightclubs where you are sure to find something just for you - from smooth R&B to electric rock. Features a variety of different nightclubs, each with a different theme.
Adventurers Club
Take an expedition into the past in this audience-participation comedy club for tall tales of explorers' adventures.
Rock 'n' Roll Beach Club
Catch a wave of fun at this beach party of a nightclub. The good times last all night long with great live bands on selected evenings, as the classic hits of yesterday meet the newest hits of today.
Motion
Groove to the latest videos on the massive screen. This outrageous dance club has captured a non-stop youthful energy and put it to the beat of Top 40 music. Motion is squarely aimed at the younger crowd.
Mannequins Dance Palace
The most popular of the music clubs! Go for a spin at this pulsing, flashing, energizing dance club. The huge floor actually rotates as you gyrate to booming sounds of techno trance tunes.
8TRAX
Dance back in time to the gloriously gaudy days of lighted disco balls and dance floors. An accurate representation of 1970's styles and music.
The Comedy Warehouse
Another all-time favorite. Get in on the act at this warehouse where the tin roof rattles with laughter from the hourly improvised comdey shows.
BET Soundstage Club
Bust a move on over to this two-story soundstage environment and head on down to the dance floor. The DJ spins phat tunes from the latest hip hop to old school R&B favorites.
