- The first permanent bar made of ice in the United States, ICEBAR Orlando, will open Oct. 3, 2008 on International Drive. The ICEBAR experience will take guests through the Chill Lounge, a 4,000-square-foot bar featuring live entertainment, caviar flights and premium beverage service in an upscale Nordic setting. Before entering the 1,000-square-foot air-locked ICEBAR, guests will be provided with a cape and gloves to stay warm during their 45-minute experience.
- Scheduled to open in November 2008, the Venturella Resort & Spa is a boutique-style, 155-guestroom, four-star premier resort located at the threshold to Walt Disney World in Lake Buena Vista.
- Special golf deal at the Orlando World Center Marriott Resort to its 18-hole championship Hawk’s Landing Golf Club for unlimited daily golf for two with prices ranging from $249 to $409 per room.
- SeaWorld Orlando announced a new mega-attraction, Manta opening summer 2009. Guests will fly face-down, in a horizontal position, underneath the belly of a coaster train shaped as a giant manta.
- Buena Vista Suites, an all-suites hotel in Orlando, FL is offering the "Vista Retreat" Vacation Package which includes a $25 gas card and a $25 credit for dining charges in their steakhouse, Vista Bistro. Restrictions apply.
- The National Weather Service is forecasting up to nine hurricanes in 2008.
- The Naples Beach Hotel & Golf Club is offering special “Summer Value Rates” that start at $159 per room, per night Sunday-Thursday, or from $179 per room, per night on Friday or Saturday. The special rates are available May 27-September 30, 2008. Included is admission for children ages five to 12 in the morning activities of the Beach Klub 4 Kids supervised child activity program.
