This all-suite property is located on the shore-line of Fort Lauderdale's North Beach area and is developing programs that will create a vacation made for mom, dad, the kids and even grandparents.

Guests enter the hotel via a porte-cochere into a two-story lobby and reception area. Off the lobby, a sundries shop and Le Marche, a gourmet neighborhood market, will be opening soon. Across the street is access to the public beach. A beach concierge is planned who will offer chaise lounge chairs, umbrellas and food and beverage service through a wireless waiter service.

The 25,000 square-foot sixth-floor Sunrise Terrace is the hub of activity. It overlooks the ocean and features a heated zero-entry pool, private cabanas, wireless waiters and food and beverage service.

The Hilton is one of a number of upscale properties opening in this prime area along Fort Lauderdale's North Beach region. Its beachfront location and the fact that it is a brand new property make it a top choice for families. For families seeking a resort in Fort Lauderdale, the Hilton's suites offer more space and amenities than just a hotel room. The property specializes in family-friendly service that caters to young guests.

Children's Program

The resort's "Ocean Explorers" program is available for travelers from ages 6 to 15-plus. It is offered seven days a week from 9a.m. to 3p.m., including lunch. While some activities take place on the property and at the beach, the program features chances to see attractions in South Florida. Innovative highlights to the program include Hook the Future Fishing Clinics, in which Capt. Don Dingman, professional angler and host tot he television show "Hook the Future," shows kids techniques to the sport, with fun and prizes thrown in.

The Find Your Inner Picasso Art Experience has kids visiting Joe Picasso's Interactive Studio on Las Olas Boulevard to try mosaic-making and/or painting pottery. Other off-site experiences can include an intracoastal water taxi excursion, a visit to the Museum of Discovery and Science plus IMAX Theater, golf clinics and more. Parents can join kids on their excursions on Tuesday "family" days.

Dining options include ilios, an upscale signature restaurant offering contemporary Mediterranean cuising, is located next to the pool. If offers three meals daily and bar service.

Accommodations

The property received the Four Diamond award by AAA just 35 days after its opening. All 333 studios, one, two and three bedroom suites are made for families, offering extra space and amenities. They feature kitchenettes or fully equipped kitchens plus washer and dryer. The hotel's Grocery Concierge can stock the suite with the kid's favorites prior to arrival for a nominal fee. Marble bathrooms come with separate showers and Euqopean soking tubs with whirlpool jets. There are also high-definition flat-screen TVs and private balconies. Hilton Serenity Beds feature Serta mattresses and box springs, and high-quality linens and pillows.

Even the studios are spacious enough for a family of four, but the larger suites are really where the propery shines, with plenty of space for the family for longer stays.

Spa and Fitness Center

The 7,000 square-foot Spa Q is a full-service European Spa center. Services include facials, massages, body treatments, manicures and pedicures. The hotel fitness center features the latest equipment and includes fitness classes.

Rates: Prices range from the high $200s per night to the mid $800s per night, depending on the season.
